About Us

Meet the Family Behind Flying 8 Ranch

We're Tate, Dakota, River, and Laney! We live in beautiful Eastern Oregon and are thankful for this life we live each and every day. Family means the world to us and we couldn't imagine raising ours any other way than being OUTSIDE enjoying and caring for our cattle, horses, and a few (okay, maybe more than a few) other critters.
Doing what we love is a blessing and we are so excited to share our story with you.

About Our Beef

Our cattle spend their lives grazing on pasture right here in beautiful Eastern Oregon. As the grass does not grow during the winter months, they are provided local, quality hay. Our finishing program consists of a 90-120 day period where our steers are supplemented with a ration of nutrient dense mixed grain. We are partial to the taste and quality of grass-fed, grain-finished beef and are so proud to share ours with families like yours!
Once our steers are humanely harvested, they are hung in an open air chilled cooler to be dry-aged for a two week long process (13-15 days). This is called "dry-aging" and aids in producing a very tender and flavorful cut of meat.
Did you know? Our cattle are born, raised, and processed right here in Eastern/Central Oregon. Our cattle are tended to by our family and given the utmost of care day in and day out.
