Q: Can I choose which cuts I want?

A: Yes! When purchasing a beef share, you will be sent a cut sheet to specify your cut preferences. We will gladly assist if you have any questions. 

Live Weight vs. Hanging Weight vs. Packaged Weight

Live Weight: Weight of animal on hoof. 

Hanging Weight: Weight provided by the butcher after initial processing. **This is the weight used in calculating the price of your share.** (The hanging weight is approximately 60% of the live weight.)

Packaged Weight: Weight of the packaged meat you bring home to your freezer. (The packaged weight is approximately 60-65% of the hanging weight.)

Price per pound = $4.50

325 lbs x $4.50/lb = $1,462.50

Pick-Up Location

There is no shipping available for beef shares. Purchased beef shares are to be picked up straight from the butcher located in Prineville, Oregon.

Freezer Space Needed

A general guideline is approximately 30 pounds of meat per cubic foot of freezer space.
